I suspect that the egg and squash appear a bit too close... too crammed together... so that they begin to inhabit the same space and visually flatten out. I have struggled with similar issues with my figurative paintings... although I have always had a certain Mannerist edge to my work in spite of not being overly fond of that moment of art history. -Stlukesguild
Yes, they are indeed a bit too crammed. Of course, I notice that kind of thing only when it is too late. :-)
