Rose hips

Collected on my morning walk. This time of year (early autumn here in the southern hemisphere) the world becomes an embarrassment of riches for the artist.

Zinnia flower

Another attempt at painting outside, with a mini paintbox. This one was a bit uncomfortable sitting on a small stool amid tall grasses with insects crawling over me - not ideal conditions, but that's of course part of the fun.

I have never tried this before: outdoor painting with a little homemade, mini tin can paintbox. A somewhat nervous first attempt, perhaps, but with practice I might improve.

Four morning glories

These little monsters are pretty invasive - if you don't keep them in check they overgrow the entire garden. But if you force them to pose for a still life arrangement, then at least they're earning their keep...
